The Router is an electrical tool, which is used to drill materials that crack easily such as fiberglass. Attached to the top of the router is a thin, but strong disc of sandpaper.
When the router is in use, the disc spins fast and its edge is applied slowly against the surface, which is to be cut. A thin, smooth line is produced, making the router a good tool to use when a curved surface needs to be cut. The router must be moved slowly as the sandpaper discs are easy to snap.
I found this tool hard to use as I often broke the sandpaper discs. If the router was moved too quickly or too roughly, it broke. The breaking of the discs made it hard to make progress.
The soldering iron is a hand tool used when soldering.
To use the soldering iron, it first needs to be heated. After it is heated, it is then pressed against the material, which is to be soldered (so that the material can become hot.) The metal, which is to be melted onto the material, is then put against it, and melts. The melted metal can then be spread.
I found the soldering iron easy to use as it heated up quickly and melted the metals quickly, making them runny and easy to spread.
A spanner is a hand tool used to tighten or loosen nuts and other turning objects. It is used by adjusting its width, to fit against the turning object and is then turned to tighter or loosens it.
I found the spanner an effective tool but often difficult to use, as it would adjust itself when being used, if the surface it was turning on, changed, becoming ineffective.
The cable cutter is a hand tool that is used to cut wire and other strong materials that cannot be cut by scissors.
To use it, insert the material needed to be cut in-between the two blades of metal and then squeeze the handles together.
I found the cable cutter an effective tool to use as it does the job of scissors and more, as it can cut through thicker surfaces.
Tyre levers are used to remove a bicycle tyre from the rest of the wheel. To use them, insert two under the inside of the tyre on opposite ends, and pull out while running the levers along the tyre. This will dislodge the tyre from the rest of the wheel making it easy to remove.
I found the tyre levers difficult to use, as it was tough to get them attached to the wheel, making changing a tire a long process.
A centre punch is a metal rod which is used manually (with the use of a hammer) to make an indent on an object which is to be drilled.
The pointed end is placed on a marked point and is then hit by a hammer to leave an indent on the point to ensure accuracy when drilling. It is very easy to use.
Burrs are the rough edges left on materials after being drilled. Deburrers remove these rough edges.
The conical end of the deburrer is used manually by being inserted into a drilled hole and turned around until all the rough edges are gone.
